At Oztrack, we now provide a convenient LS engine rebuilding service. If you run a workshop, this service allows you or a local mechanic, or you to remove the engine and send it to us. You can also drop the engine off directly at our facility. Once received, we dismantle, rebuild, and return it to you, ready for use. Rebuild and Reconditioning Process
1. Engine Disassembly and Machining
- The engine is disassembled, and all reusable parts are cleaned and inspected.
- Cylinders are measured to determine the required oversize for boring and honing. If worn beyond safe limits, the block can be sleeved.
- Cylinders are CNC bored using our precision equipment at Oztrack.
- The engine block deck is surfaced.
- The block is thoroughly cleaned using a hot wash process.
- Cylinders are Honed. They are then measured within four ten-thousandths of an inch for precision.
- Honing quality is verified using a profilometer to ensure optimal results for your application.
- The block undergoes a final hot wash cleaning before being transferred to the assembly room.
- The crankshaft is linished and cleaned, and cam bearings are installed.
2. Engine Assembly
- Piston rings are precision-gapped.
- The engine is fully assembled to the highest standards, ensuring reliability and performance.
3. Engine Pickup and Return
Once complete, the rebuilt engine is securely packaged and made available for pickup or shipped to your nominated address.
Optional Tuning Services
- In-House Dyno Tuning: We offer Prohub Dyno run-in services and full Dyno tuning, including an oil change.
- Remote Tuning: For your convenience, we can send a tuning device to you. We also offer a remote custom tuning service.
