LS engine rebuilding and machining in Penrith
Oztrack rebuilds LS1, LS2, L76, L77, L98, LS3 and LSA engines in-house. We inspect, machine, measure and assemble each engine to suit its intended street, performance, circuit or boosted use.
How an Oztrack LS engine rebuild is completed
We do not simply replace damaged parts and assemble the engine. The block and internal parts are inspected and measured before the final combination is selected.
Inspection and dismantling
The engine is stripped and checked for bearing wear, cylinder damage, failed lifters, ring wear and other faults.
Cleaning and measurement
Components are cleaned before the block, crankshaft, bores, decks and bearing clearances are measured.
In-house machining
Required work may include CNC boring, torque-plate honing, deck surfacing, sleeving and cylinder-head machining.
Blueprint assembly
Bearing clearances, piston clearances, ring gaps and valvetrain geometry are matched to the engine's intended use.
Engine installation
For complete vehicle jobs, the rebuilt engine is installed with the required supporting parts, fluids and checks.
Initial start and checks
Oil pressure, temperatures, noises, leaks and ECU data are checked before the engine is placed under significant load.
Dyno testing
Suitable vehicles can be tested on the Mainline ProHub to verify operation under controlled engine load.
Final calibration
Fuel, ignition, idle, airflow and torque controls are calibrated to suit the rebuilt engine and its modifications.
Why rebuild your LS engine at Oztrack?
The quality of an engine rebuild depends on accurate machining, measurement, parts selection and final calibration.
In-house engine machining
Oztrack can perform CNC boring, CNC surfacing, torque-plate honing and other machining work without sending the main block work to a general outside workshop.
Measured cylinder finish
We use bore-measuring equipment and a profilometer to check bore size and surface finish for the intended piston ring and engine use.
Street and performance experience
We rebuild standard street engines, cammed combinations, supercharged engines, strokers and circuit-focused LS engines.
Engine and tuning under one roof
Mechanical assembly and ECU calibration can be considered as one complete combination rather than two unrelated jobs.
Choose the right LS engine rebuild option
Oztrack can rebuild the engine as part of a complete vehicle job or supply a rebuilt engine for customers who deliver or freight an engine.
LS Engine Reconditioning Without the Car
Suitable for customers supplying a removed engine or arranging freight to Oztrack.

Why Choose Engine Rebuilding?
Engines are intricate systems with many moving parts and wear, and tear are inevitable over time. If you notice less power, lower fuel efficiency, or strange noises from your engine, it may be time for an engine rebuild. Our professional engine reconditioning services encompass the full range of LS engines. For example, LS engines often show significant bearing wear after 200,000 km. Few of them reach 300,000 km without needing a rebuild. If you have an LSA, LS1, LS2, LS3, L76, L77 or L98, we can usually use or save your original engine block. Then, build up an engine with correct measurements for its pistons and bearings and torque plate hone the cylinders. Stock crate engines are often assembled very tight and can have cylinder sleeve shifts in many cases. This is especially common in the LS3 crate engines and LSA crate engines.

The Engine Rebuilding Process
Our engine rebuilding process starts with thoroughly inspecting and disassembling your engine. Our skilled technicians scrutinize each component, identifying worn-out or damaged parts. We then offer precise engine machining services. These include CNC boring, CNC surfacing, sleeving, and 6 Diamond Head Torque Plate Honing. This ensures that every part meets strict specifications. We have the latest Blueprinting Technology Tooling to verify all of our work. Measuring cylinders to one-tenth of a thou. We also use a profilometer to measure the quality of honing. This helps us ensure it meets the application’s needs for street use, circuit racing, or boosted engines.

Every LS engine build is different
Every engine is inspected before machining begins. We measure the block, crankshaft, bores and cylinder heads before recommending the rebuild specification. Parts, machining and assembly are matched to the engine's intended use, whether it is a street rebuild, cammed performance engine or high-power supercharged combination.
