Oztrack LS Camshaft Information

Oztrack Cams

Oztrack Camshafts

Some we have manufactured to our design specifications and others we source from suppliers pre-designed. When installed with quality valve springs and moly pushrods, these cams make for an excellent performance package. A camshaft upgrade is a very effective performance upgrade.

Our cams have a more modern lobe shape than many competitors’ cams.

They often perform better than far lumpier cams from competitors. Our biggest cams are hard to beat in performance.

LS1-LS2

  1. FE – Best fuel economy and towing, idles stock. This is the best of our cams for low-down torque. It is a giant killer in performance, though; a customer LS1 Statesman has run 12.7/111mph and made 279 rwkw with it. It also can cruise from Newcastle to Sydney, often recording in the low 9L/100km range.
  2. LSV – Best all-round cam and our most popular for LS1. Good gains right through the range and idles far calmer than the bigger cams but is still choppy.
  3. HP1 – The most popular new cam makes power almost as good as the HP3 yet idles similarly to the LSV.
  4. HP3/HP9- low 230s cam, lumpier and more up-high power over the LSV, calmer than the GT. Biggest recommended cam in Automatics.
  5.  GT – features a high 230s cam. This cam provides a lumpy sound and a substantial power gain at high RPMs. It also performs decently at low RPMs. Overall, it offers good drivability for a large cam. Has a best in an LS1 with stock heads of 315 rwkw.

LS3 & L98 (L76* & L77*) *= require  afm hardware removal

  1. LSV – Good gains right through the range. It idles far calmer than the bigger cams, but it is still choppy. Solid gains from low in the rpm range. Brilliant supercharger cam.
  2. HP1 – Our most popular new cam. Idles similar to the LSV but make power closer to the HP3
  3. HP3/HP9- low 230s cam, lumpier and more up-high power than the LSV, calmer than the HPS. Good in 6L/6.2L Automatics.
  4. HPS – offers the largest cam we can install without needing custom pistons. This cam provides a lumpy sound and a substantial spread of power gains at high RPM. Despite its size, it also performs decently at low RPM, ensuring good drivability. Has a best in a 6L with stock heads of 365 rwkw, 381 rwkw with CNC heads and many cars over 350 rwkw.

We also have available camshafts that suit stroker and forced induction applications. The HP9 is our preferred cam for the Harrop 2300 or Harrop 2650, but the HP1, HP3 and HPS also work well.
