Harrop Engineering Australia FDFI2300 or FDFI2650 Supercharger Kit including:
2.7 Bar MAP Sensor flow matched injectors Harrop OTR cold air intakeIn the realm of automotive performance, few upgrades can match the impact of a supercharger. The Harrop Supercharger stands out for engineering excellence among the elite options available.Understanding the Harrop Supercharger
The Harrop Supercharger, especially the Harrop FDFI series, are a roots-style unit. They are well-known for providing quick and significant power increases. This supercharger is designed to increase the engine’s airflow, significantly boosting the power output. But what makes the Harrop Supercharger upgrade genuinely exceptional? The Harrop 2300 and Harrop 2650: Technical Marvels
The Harrop FDFI (front drive – front inlet) supercharger kit features advanced supercharger technology. It is designed at Harrop HQ. It uses the same Eaton Twin Vortices Series™ (TVS™) system found in the ZR1 Corvette and the ZL1 Camaro.
The TVS™ supercharger has a unique design. It features twin four-lobe rotors that twist at 160 degrees. This design includes high-flow inlet and outlet ports. These features greatly improve thermal efficiency. They also provide a higher volumetric capacity and allow for higher operating speeds. The TVS™ supercharger can operate with high thermal efficiency, reaching up to 76 percent. It works well across a broad range of conditions. The higher helix angle of the rotors, along with redesigned inlet and outlet ports, improves air handling. This enhancement occurs without increasing the overall size of the unit
.
The TVS™ improved noise and vibration characteristics eliminate additional noise-reduction treatments, complexity and system cost. The supercharger also has a bypass system. This system reduces air handling losses when boost is not needed. As a result, it improves fuel economy.
The traditional transfer shaft found in earlier Harrop supercharger kits has been removed. This change makes the FDFI supercharger system quieter. It also provides more efficient power delivery and reduces the number of parts that need servicing. The supercharger drive shaft now runs through the FDFI’s inlet area. However, this change does not affect the system’s performance. The inlet area has been enlarged compared to earlier HTV series superchargers.
Other upgrades to the FDFI supercharger include advanced cooling systems. It features twin pass intercooler cores in the manifold. This design lowers inlet air temperature quickly without hurting cooling efficiency. Additionally, it has an improved intercooler water pump. The system also has shorter routing, enhancing efficiency and giving the engine bay a cleaner look.
Why Choose a Harrop Supercharger Upgrade?
Several compelling factors drive the decision to enhance your vehicle’s performance with a Harrop Supercharger.Unmatched Performance Gains
The main appeal of a Harrop Supercharger upgrade is its ability to boost horsepower and torque significantly. By enhancing the engine’s ability to breathe, the supercharger ensures it operates at its maximum potential. This translates to faster acceleration and improved overall performance. We have seen gains on cars with a cam upgrade already of up to 160 rwkw from less than 10psi of boost.Precision Engineering
Harrop Engineering is renowned for its meticulous approach to product development. Each supercharger is crafted with precision, ensuring that it meets the highest standards of quality and reliability. This commitment to excellence is reflected in the performance and longevity of the Harrop Supercharger.Versatility and Compatibility
The Harrop Supercharger is made to work with VE and VF Series models that have rectangular port heads. That includes the L98, L76, L77 and LS3.Installation and Considerations
Installing a supercharger, while rewarding, requires careful planning and execution. Here’s what you need to consider:One of the advantages of the Harrop 2300 is its straightforward installation process. Designed with user-friendliness, this supercharger can be fitted without requiring extensive modifications. This feature is particularly advantageous for enthusiasts looking to upgrade their vehicle’s performance without significant downtime. It comes with a detailed instruction manual.Optional: Dyno Tuning on the Mainline Prohub

Additional modifications may be necessary to leverage the Harrop Supercharger’s capabilities fully. These include upgrading to the 1000hp fuel pump module, full-performance exhaust and cam upgrade. We can build an engine with internals to handle the highest echelons of power outputs for extreme builds. Each vehicle is different, so assessing what supporting modifications are needed for your specific setup is crucial.Real-World Applications
The Harrop Supercharger upgrade has been embraced by automotive professionals and enthusiasts, leading to impressive real-world applications.Case Study: Street Performance
Consider a scenario where a car enthusiast upgrades their V8 engine with a Harrop FDFI2300. After the upgrade, the vehicle shows a significant boost in power. This change makes it a strong street performer with fast acceleration and solid mid-range torque. Many cars make 480-510 rwkw from the combination of cam upgrade and performance exhaust with 1000hp fuel pump.
It is recommended to have a cam upgrade already or do it simultaneously with installing the supercharger.
